CoLA Council Committee on Sustainability

The CoLA Council sustainability committee has begun a small project to study and hopefully improve the amount of post-consumer content (PCC) paper purchased by CoLA departments and programs. This may not sound like a huge issue but using recycled paper (particularly paper with 100% PCC) is much more efficient in terms of energy, and several other natural resources and it can be more cost effective.
The first goal of the project will be to determine the total amount of paper purchased and consumed within CoLA and how much of this has post-consumer content and what the percentage of PCC is. After we determine the quantity of PCC paper, our next goal will be to develop an effective campaign to increase the quantity of PCC paper purchased by CoLA.
We are currently in the process of collecting the requisite data from the various depts. and if you have any suggestions please don't hesitate to forward them to the chair of the committee.
